During the first phase, the graders for the SIELE exams will be the experts from the three sponsoring institutions. In order to get qualify as a SIELE grader, it is required to have passed the accreditation course offered through the Cervantes Institute and the University of Salamanca.
To be eligible for accreditation as a SIELE grader, the four requirements must be met:
1. Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
2. Specific training in Spanish as a FL:
- 100 hours for degree holders in Spanish Philology or Linguistics.
- 200 hours for degree holders in non-Spanish Philology, Translation, Humanities and Education.
- 400 hours for other degree holders and/or Master’s and Doctorates in Spanish as a FL.
3. Native Spanish speaker or an international certified C2 level of Spanish.
4. Teaching experience in Spanish as a FL:
- 700 hours for degree holders in Spanish Philology or Linguistics.
- 1,000 hours for degree holders in non-Spanish Philology, Translation, Humanities and Education.
- 1,400 hours for other degree holders.
