Starter course (A)
This Course has a mainly practical approach and is focused on the performance in the classroom. The aim is to encourage reflection on the various elements taking part in the teaching and learning process: the student, the teacher, the learning context and the materials for teaching and learning. The course proposes a discussion on strategies for better learning and an analysis of resources and tools that the teacher can use depending on the characteristics of the target group. The course also provides a workshop dedicated to the selection and adaptation of teaching materials, for the development of different skills and competencies in the scope of new technologies..
This course is oriented to the development of the key competences of the teaching staff:
- Organize learning situations.
- Manage feelings and emotions in the performance of your work.
- Use ICTs for the performance of your work.
- Reflecting on the teaching and learning process of Spanish as a Foreign Language and the elements involved.
- Analyzing techniques, procedures and resources for teacher and student performance in the classroom.
- Choosing the tools and resources offered by the network in order to put them into practice.

Dolores Iriarte Vañó (specialist in the design of teaching materials)
- Resources and Grammar in the L2 Business Class.
Marta García García (author of handbooks for the teaching of ELE)
- Guidelines for the evaluation of oral expression in the ELE classroom.
Juan Miguel Prieto Hernández (researcher of the role of evaluation in the classroom)
- Creation of materials with digital media for analog classrooms.
Marta Seseña Gómez (specialist in the use of new technologies applied to the teaching of ELE)
SHORT RESUME OF THE TEACHERS
Rosario Coca Hernando
She works as teacher of Spanish Language and Culture in Cursos Internacionales of the University of Salamanca. He has presented papers in several congresses, published several articles on didactic proposals for the ELE class and has given numerous courses and workshops for the training of ELE teachers both in the University of Salamanca and in other institutions; she has also participated, as head or collaborator, in several projects in the area of evaluation of Cursos Internacionales of the University of Salamanca (DELE, BULATS, SURVEYLANG and SIELE). For a few years now, her line of research has focused mainly on the task-based approach and the use of technology in the ELE classroom.
Marta García García
Hispanic Philology PhD. and Master in Spanish as a Foreign Language by the University of Salamanca. She is a full professor of Spanish at Cursos Internacionales of the University of Salamanca where she has taught in various Masters of Spanish. She has developed her work in the field of evaluation, not only in the elaboration, marking, and coordination of the DELE or as an examiner of the oral tests of this certificate; but also in the creation of tests for the SIELE exam. She is also the academic responsible for the Languagecert USAL esPro exams for Spanish. She has also published papers on non-verbal communication and co-authored ELE materials.
Dolores Iriarte Vañó
Hispanic Philology PhD. by the University of Salamanca and teacher of ELE at Cursos Internacionales of the University of Salamanca. She works as a teacher trainer in the area of ELE, giving courses and seminars on the didactics of Spanish language and literature at the University of Salamanca and abroad in collaboration with the Ministry of Education. She is part of the team that corrects and creates tests for the Diplomas in Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE). She is the author of several articles in the field of didactics of grammar and literature for ELE students.
Juan Miguel Prieto Hernández
Hispanic Philology PhD. by the University of Salamanca. Head of the Evaluation Area of Cursos Internacionales of the University of Salamanca. He has given teacher training seminars in universities and official institutions in Spain and abroad. He coordinates the different teams that prepare and evaluate tests for the Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE) and those of other proficiency exams such as SIELE and USAL esPro. He is the author of several specialized articles on the methodology of teaching Spanish and the evaluation of Spanish as a foreign language. He is co-author of several ELE teaching programs.
Marta Seseña Gómez
Hispanic Philology PhD. and Master in Spanish as a Foreign Language by the University of Salamanca. She is teacher of ELE in Cursos Internacionales and in the Faculty of Philology of the University of Salamanca. He has also given teacher training seminars at universities and official institutions, both in Spain and abroad. His lines of research focus on the use of ICT, as well as on the didactic application of audiovisual media in the classroom, topics on which he has published several articles, including Advertising as an integrating element of a proposal for teaching by tasks..
Ana María Vázquez Teruelo
Graduate in Hispanic Philology from the University of Salamanca and Master's degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. She works as an ELE teacher in Cursos Internacionales of the University of Salamanca, where she is part of the R+D+i area. He has given many teacher training courses in several Spanish and foreign institutions. He is a member of the team of creators and evaluators of DELE and SIELE tests. Her main lines of research focus on evaluation and the analysis and creation of teaching materials for the classroom.
Participants will discuss with the lecturers the topics addressed in the course and will analyze and develop techniques, resources and didactic materials for the classroom in the sessions and workshops. The second workshop will propose different types of practical activities that will lead to reflection, group discussion and sharing of professional experiences related to the use of ICT in the classroom. The work will be carried out in a cooperative way, promoting group dynamics and the sharing of results, which will require an active and creative participation of the participants.

40 hours in two weeks (20 hours per week)
Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 1:30 pm and from 4 pm to 8:30 pm
Tuition fee: 290€
This course is complemented by the one held from 19 to 23 July. The two weeks 550€
The amount includes the material provided during the course and the certification.

Students who have attended this course will receive a certificate of attendance issued by the Instituto Cervantes and Cursos Internacionales of the University of Salamanca, sent to the interested party by this university. To this respect, attendance will be compulsory and absences, regardless of the cause and duly justified, may not exceed 15% of the total duration of the course.
