The Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE) are official qualifications accrediting levels of competence and proficiency of the Spanish language. They are issued by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Ministry of Education of Spain.
The Instituto Cervantes has delegated the Universidad de Salamanca and more specifically to Cursos Internacionales the tasks of: Developing and producing following the CEFR the test materials for preparing the DELE examinations. Assessing and marking tests taken in all the examination sessions held by Instituto Cervantes around the world.
Cursos Internacionales uses the expertise of high-qualified teachers specializing in applied linguistics, assessment and psychometric.
The Instituto Cervantes and Cursos Internacionales undertook the alignment of the DELE tests to the CEFR and ALTE. In addition to updating the tests, both institutions have worked hard to professionalize the development phases.
As an official examination centre approved by the Instituto Cervantes, the Universidad de Salamanca also holds the DELE examination sessions.
